NICL AO Recruitment 2026 – Apply Online for 321 Administrative Officer Posts

Important Dates

Probation Period

Selected Administrative Officers will initially be placed on one year of probation. The probation period may be extended according to company rules.

During probation, candidates are required to pass the non-life Licentiate Examination conducted by the Insurance Institute of India for confirmation of service.

Service Bond

Selected candidates are required to give an undertaking to serve NICL for a minimum period of four years, including the probation period.

Candidates leaving before completion of the required service period will be subject to the applicable conditions and liquidated damages mentioned in the detailed advertisement.

NICL has announced 321 tentative vacancies, consisting of 200 Generalist and 121 Specialist Administrative Officer posts.

NICL AO Salary 2026

Selected candidates will be appointed as Administrative Officer (Scale-I).

Pay Scale

₹82,485 – ₹4,050 (14) – ₹1,39,185 – ₹4,390 (4) – ₹1,56,745

Starting Basic Pay

₹82,485/- per month

Approximate Total Emoluments

₹1,14,000/- per month in metropolitan centres.

Educational Qualification

Candidates must possess the required qualification as on 01 October 2026.

1. Generalist Administrative Officer

• Graduate or Post Graduate degree in any discipline from a recognized university.
• Minimum 60% marks required.
• For SC/ST/PwBD candidates, minimum 55% marks required.

2. Finance – CA & CMA

Candidates must have:

• Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification from ICAI OR
• Cost and Management Accountant (CMA).
• Graduation/Post Graduation in any discipline.
• Minimum 60% marks; 55% for SC/ST/PwBD candidates.

3. Legal

• Graduate or Post Graduate degree in Law from a recognized university.
• Minimum 60% marks.
• 55% for SC/ST/PwBD candidates.

4. Information Technology

Candidates must have any one of the following:

• B.E./B.Tech. in Computer Science or Information Technology
• M.E./M.Tech. in Computer Science or Information Technology
• MCA

Minimum 60% marks are required, while SC/ST/PwBD candidates require 55%.

5. Automobile Engineers

Either:

• B.E./B.Tech./M.E./M.Tech. in Automobile Engineering

OR

• Engineering degree/postgraduate degree in any branch + at least one-year Diploma in Automobile Engineering.

Minimum 60% marks; 55% for SC/ST/PwBD candidates.

6. Risk Engineers

• Graduate/Post Graduate degree in Engineering in a discipline other than the specified IT and Automobile disciplines.
• Minimum 60% marks.
• 55% for SC/ST/PwBD candidates.

7. Company Secretaries

• ACS/FCS from ICSI
• Graduation/Post Graduation in any discipline.
• Minimum 60% marks; 55% for SC/ST/PwBD candidates.

8. Agriculture

• Four-year Graduate degree or Post Graduate qualification in:
  • Agriculture
  • Agricultural Biotechnology
  • Agricultural Engineering

Minimum 60% marks; 55% for SC/ST/PwBD candidates.

Age Limit

The candidate's age will be calculated as on 01 October 2026.

• Minimum Age: 21 Years
• Maximum Age: 30 Years

Date of Birth

Candidates should have been born:

Not earlier than 02 October 1996 and not later than 01 October 2005.

Age Relaxation

Applicable relaxations may be cumulative subject to the maximum permissible age of 45 years.

Application Fee

The application fee must be paid online during the application period.

The fee includes applicable GST/intimation charges as specified. Bank transaction charges, where applicable, are payable by the candidate.

The NICL AO selection process consists of:

1. Phase-I Preliminary Examination
2. Phase-II Main Examination
3. Interview
4. Final Merit List
5. Pre-Employment Medical Examination

Final selection will be based on the Phase-II Main Examination Objective Test and Interview in the ratio of 80:20.

Phase-I Preliminary Exam Pattern

Each section has a separate time limit. Candidates must qualify in each section according to the cut-off prescribed by NICL.

Descriptive Test

The Main Examination also includes an English Descriptive Test of 30 marks with a duration of 30 minutes.

The descriptive test is qualifying in nature and its marks are not counted for interview/final selection.

Negative Marking

There is a negative marking of 1/4th of the marks assigned to a question for every incorrect answer in the objective tests of Phase-I and Phase-II. No marks are deducted for unanswered questions.

A live photograph will also be captured through a webcam or mobile phone during the application process.

4. Enter your name, mobile number, email ID and other required details.
5. Note the provisional registration number and password.
6. Complete the personal, educational and category details.
7. Upload the required photograph, signature, left thumb impression and handwritten declaration.
8. Preview the application form carefully.
9. Complete the registration after verifying all details.
10. Pay the applicable application fee online.
11. Submit the application.
12. Download and save the application form and fee receipt for future reference.

Important: A candidate can apply for only one discipline. Multiple applications can result in only the latest valid completed application being retained, with fees paid for other registrations forfeited.
